Bird Dish & Pine Box Gift Set
Shigaraki is located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, and is recognised as playing a significant part in the long history of Japanese ceramics. It is included as one of Japan's six old kilns – being said to have a history of 1260 years. In 1976 Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.
Hechimon is a collection of Japanese ceramics by a third-generation Shigaraki-yaki maker, Marui Seito.
These handcrafted Japanese dishes are the perfect size to use as a sake cup, pair with the incense holders as a base, or for serving small treats such as olives and pickles.
An ochre coloured dish, with a bird design hand painted with glaze. As every dish is handcrafted, each is unique and will differ slightly from piece to piece.
This lightweight box is made from thin shavings of pine wood. Similar to the Kyougi wood food wraps, these thin sheets are traditionally used to wrap around food. Instead of a flat sheet, they have been bent and cut to hold the shape of a small box.
A perfect little box to hold and store the ceramic dish for a special gift set.
Each gift set includes:
- x1 Shigaraki Ceramic Bird Dish
- x1 Pine Box - Small
